The Honeywell R7847A1033 Rectification Flame Amplifier is designed to detect a flame in a combustion system and convert the information into a readable signal for an HVAC system. This watches the electrical current between flame sensor and ground to determine if there is a flame. A light electrical current is generated in the presence of a flame, which is then amplified by the amplifier. Absence of a flame leads to the signal shutting off, which triggers the amplifier to start operating a protective safety shutdown. Rapid activation, the system avoids overheating and other risks when no flame is detected.
